Computing Requirements

You need a laptop (or a desktop) computer that can run Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications smoothly. Any desktop or laptop computer bought within the last three years should be sufficient for your computing needs. Please note that the University officially supports only Microsoft Windows based computers. However, if you already own or plan to purchase a Apple Mac you will be able to use it without any problem.

Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office is the only software that you need during the program. You need it to use your online course materials, and work on your assignments and presentations. If you do not have Microsoft Office already installed on your computer, you can buy Microsoft Office 2010 University Edition or Microsoft Office Home And Student 2010. You can buy the University version online, or pick it up from one of the retailers such as, Best Buy, Future Shop, etc. Please note that the Microsoft Office 2010 University Edition is eligible for free upgrade to Office 2013 after the planned released in April 2013.

Network Connectivity

The Executive Learning Centre building is equipped with wireless network and wired network connections throughout all the areas. The lecture halls are equipped with power and network drops located near each seat. You will be provided with an account to logon to the network when you are on campus. You can access all Schulich services, such as email, course materials databases, team databases, library resources, etc., remotely over the internet. We strongly recommend that you subscribe to high speed internet service at home.
